Already in the XVth century the Spice Route became the Route

of Perfumes and Essential Oils, as the European traders backed

their journeys and discoveries. The route came to the West, from

the proli_c islands of Indonesia. The artisan crops of the botanists

of each region were the origin of most of these spices and

oils, in a hazardous journey through Ceylon, India, Somalia,

Madagascar, Reunion and many other ports of the time.

The oils travelled in the holds of the ships, safely deposited

inside their “amphorae”. These containers, usually made of clay,

were _lled with a base of sand in which the delicate bottles of

essences and oils were anchored, keeping them in a vertical

position until their arrival at port.

The perfume “Àmfores” wants to pay homage to these extraordinary

containers, to the strong winds that accompanied them in

their adventures and to the inspiration provided by the oils they

contained.

The scent of the perfume is like a metaphorical breeze enveloped

in the citrus freshness of bergamot and lemon skins, with a

touch of green grass and the transparency of a modern watery

chord of sea-smelling aldehydes. A subtle breeze, enriched with

an original _oral bouquet of jasmine and roses, lotus _ower,

cyclamen and lily of the valleys… and that, _nally, melts, soaking

a naval structure of sandalwood that is anchored in a compact

bottom formed by a sea of musks.
